In the Footsteps of Paramahansa Yogananda Pilgrimage Tour | |
To commemorate the 90th anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda's arrival in America, the Boston Meditation Group will host a four-hour bus tour to visit a number of the places associated with Paramahansaji's life and teachings in the Boston area. The tour will also feature videos and readings describing the significance of the locations we will visit.
Schedule: The tour will leave at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 19, from the Waltham center and will return there at approximately 6 p.m. Refreshments will be provided, and the bus will have restroom facilities. We will stop and debark at two locations: Piers Park, where Paramahansaji first set foot in America, and 9 Lester Terrace, the former home of one of Paramahansaji's first disciples in America, Sister Yogamata. Paramahansaji held many classes there, and it was also there that the “strawberry prophecy” described in Chapter 21 of Autobiograpy of a Yogi was fulfilled.
Cost: We request $20 per attendee to cover the tour and rental costs.
Registration: Friends and family are welcome. To register, please email pilgrimage@bostonmeditationgroup.org, and specify the number of people attending.
Footsteps booklet: The booklet In the Footsteps of Paramahansa Yogananda provides details on places and the Master's association with them. We will provide this booklet to partipants. More information about our efforts to honor the places where Paramahansaji lived and taught in Boston is available on our In the Footsteps of Paramahansa Yogananda page.
